Grey Forest Open Studios is a free annual event open to the public to view or purchase original hand made art work.
The 25th Annual Grey Forest Open Studios Art Show & Sale will be held Saturday, October 10 from noon to 6PM (rain or shine). The Event is free and open to the public to view or purchase original handcrafted art-work. Patrons are able to enjoy a friendly festive atmosphere seeing where Artists live and work amid the creeks, woods and old Sunday houses.
This year’s event will feature work presented by 30 participating artists, located at 12 studios/gardens situated through out Grey Forest. Directional signs and maps will guide the welcomed visitors.A wide range of work will be on exhibit to include: paintings in oils, acrylics & water colors, print-making, note cards, eco-friendly market bags, ceramics, Ethnic-jewelry, knitted designs, fused/slumped glass, sculptures made of alabaster, calcite & limestone,
metal-welded sculptures, mixed-media constructions, re-purposed painted furniture, metal prints and more.
Patrons are able to purchase unique art plus enjoy a friendly festive atmosphere seeing where artist work and live amid the creeks, woods and old Sunday houses.
Grey Forest, Texas is a small quiet rural community located on Scenic Loop Road that began as a development of secluded hill country summer homes in the 1920's. The area still retains its rustic charm with twisted oaks, native stone buildings, and crystal clear creeks that meander through the winding roads.
Directions: From 1604 take Banderal Road (Hwy 16 north) about 2.7 miles. Turn right on Scenic Loop Road (at four way traffic light). Continue another 3 miles to Grey Forest.
From 1H-10 take Boerne Stage Road exit to Scenic Loop Road South about 4 miles to Grey Forest. Directional signs will be posted along the entire art route.
